  PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV LEAVES FOR MOSCOW
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev left for Moscow on April 28 to attend the funerals of world famous musician and conductor Mstislav Rostropovich.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended April 29 in Moscow the funeral of the outstanding musician, maestro Mstislav Rostropovich.
The President and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva arrived at the Christ the Savior where burial service for the great musician took place. The Head of State offered condolences to Mstislav Rostropovich’s widow Galina Vishnevskaya, his relatives and friends.
The first couple of Azerbaijan paid their last respect to the memory of the late standing at his coffin.
Among the mourners also were Queen Sofia of Spain, renowned politicians, scientists, artists and other notable people.
President Ilham Aliyev and his wife also attended the burial of Mstislav Rostropovich at Novodevichye cemetery in Moscow.
Here the Azerbaijani leader also expressed sympathy to the widow of the first Russian President Naina Yeltsina, and laid flowers at his tomb.
The President and the fist lady also laid flowers at the tomb of known Russian journalist Artyom Borovik.
Later on the same day, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev left Moscow for home. At the Vnukovo airport, the Azerbaijani leader was seen off by high-ranking officials of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
