  PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV HEADS TO SWITZERLAND
Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev left for Switzerland Wednesday to attend World Economic Forum`s annual meeting in Davos.
At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the President was seen off by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, Chief of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev and Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalybov

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met Wednesday with David Harris, Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee at the Turmhotel Victoria in Davos, Switzerland.
Successful development of US-Azerbaijan bilateral relations in a variety of fields was stressed at the meeting. The sides also highlighted Jewish community’s role in boosting bilateral ties.
The meeting focused on the fact that all conditions were created for the Jewish community to work independently in Azerbaijan.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met Thursday with President of the Swiss Confederation Pascal Couchepin in Davos on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
The sides stressed that bilateral relations are developing successfully. Swiss President said he is aware of the rapid economic expansion in Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev touched upon the ongoing economic growth in Azerbaijan, and accomplishments achieved in the energy sector.
Couchepin said Swiss companies are keen on the energy sector of Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring Europe’s energy security had been enhanced. The Azerbaijani leader expressed confidence that bilateral relations between the two nations will continue to develop.
The meeting also focused on the regional issues and the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met Thursday with President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko at the Turmhotel Victoria in Davos, Switzerland on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on prospects for bilateral relations. President Yushchenko told of the processes taking place in Ukraine.
The two Presidents had a conversation about how to develop even more the strategic partnership between the two nations. The focus of discussions was also some projects and energy cooperation. Both countries` leaders highlighted the importance of joint activity of the two countries in implementing various projects.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met Thursday with BP Group Chief Executive Anthony Hayward in Davos, Switzerland.
Both Ilham Aliyev and Anthony Hayward stressed there is a longstanding and successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and BP, and expressed confidence it will enhance in future.
Implementation of energy projects in Azerbaijan was discussed, and Anthony Hayward praised the country`s efforts in this field.

On Thursday, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the session dealing with the role of solar energy in power industry.
Speakers at the meeting stressed the role of the world`s resource-rich countries, including Azerbaijan, in ensuring energy security.
